Her Second Swim Meet

Violet participated in her second swim meet ever... this one at the old YMCA by the Meadow's Mall. It was so cool to go there and see the pool in which I learned how to swim... especially because I remember it as being SOOO HUGE. But, of course, it wasn't at all. Violet was especially adorable, and she did a great job. The best part? She got to swim with Jeffrey and Molly, Erin's kids.

Molly and Violet before the races began...
Rick watching closely as the meet started...
Molly swimming the backstroke...
and Violet doing the breaststroke...
Jeffrey did the breaststroke, too. He was way into it...
Violet getting some last minute coaching before her butterfly race...
and Riley watching from the stands as his sister was swimming...

During the 50 Butterfly, Violet did awesome... of course she was also very curious as to what was going on around her...
and she had a strong turn with GREAT arms out of the water!
AND SHE WON! First place for the 8 and under crowd. We are so proud of her very first ribbon for swimming!

She also swam the 100 IM race... here she is making her final turn to finish the race...
and in that one, she came in SECOND! We couldn't stand it we were so proud!!

I love this picture of her... she just looks so mature here. She still loves swimming, and I know the wins at this meet have really boosted her confidence in the sport. I hope she continues, because I love being a swimmer's mom. :)
