Alicia's Story

Alicia is a dear friend of Stephanie DeJarnett, Val's red-headed step child ;), and she is going through cancer right now.

Read her story. It's a 7-part feature, running in the San Francisco Chronicle all this week.

If you get a chance, read the comments, too. Very inspiring. I have been crying for the last half hour.

Having a mom who died from cancer, I'm not always in the mood for that type of story, as inspiring as it might possibly be. Then again, there are days when I'm fine with it. (But I don't think I'm ready to cry today- thanks for the tearjerker warning.) I just hate cancer.

The book I recommended above, A Dedication, also deals with coming to grips with cancer. Just a fair warning on that one ;)
