And she wanted to continue the tradition again, this year. It was a little emotional because this is the first Mother's day without Grandma Jane. But we made sure that she was very much a part of the day. Leslie and Tish brought over Grandma's teacups, which were perfect...
And almost all of the ladies of the family were able to attend. The morning was full of lovely conversation...
Amazing treats and sandwiches made by Liane, Violet, and me...
Liane even made Grandma's special strawberry shortcake recipe, which was completely incredible and the perfect dessert!
Violet was a huge part of the tea... she designed the invitations, helped make sandwiches, and served tea. She is a wonderful hostess!
And of course, the newest lady of the family... looking lovely in her pretty ribbons :)
It was a lovely day with lovely company. And although Grandma couldn't be there... she was, in spirit... as well as in a jar. ;)

Grandma in a jar...that is so great!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
That is awesome. You were expressing yourself so eloquently and "tea like" and then....as well as in a jar. hahahahahahahahahaha. that made my day.
Oh Jessie! You goof! You are such a character!
The tea party looked great. I want to see Violet's invites.
Seriously, was grandma *really* in the jar?!
Oh. My. Goodness.
What a lovely tradition to have all the women together. Did everyone do "pinkies"? ;-)
I love tea.
Of course we did pinkies. And of course that was Grandma in the jar. Which I still need to label "GRANDMA. DO NOT EAT." just in case, you know.
We all got a little bit of Grandma to keep after her funeral and we take her places that we travel and leave her ashes where we go. Grandma instructed me to take a teaspoon of her ashes to the top of the Eiffel Tower. I told Rick we need to go to Paris. Grandma's request and all ;)
Jessie...you had me all soft and sentimental reading about the tea party...so lady-like and then CRACK ME UP with Grandma in a jar...I so LOVE your humor, and I love that it's so unpredictable.
