I went out with Mel & Cara for Cara's birthday...

And got to meet Mel's favorite Vegas singer, Nick Motil...

Violet got a new haircut... (doesn't she look so old now??)

I went to Chicago on a whirlwind trip to CHA... and met some fabulous friends!

And also got to hang out with our "flat friends" who couldn't make the show... those flatsies got in alllll sorts of trouble!

and Mel Bauer (my long lost sista!) and I got a killer deal on these new scrap bags!

Went to Virginia for a week on a family vacation...
We rode a 4 person bike on Virginia beach...

Attended Liane's jewelry show...

Violet was tired of waiting for "the show" to start, so she put on her own performance...

And had a fabulous time at the Tripodi's house on The River!
Violet and Riley spent the whole time playing with the cousins...

We attended a carnival and rode the ferris wheel...

Tinty and Luke thought the three dudes who crammed into the seat behind them were pretty funny...

And the kids had a great time playing with body crayons... Violet turned Riley into Spiderman!

And probably the most surprising thing to happen on vacation?
Luke sharing his tattoos with ABU! and MUMA! And MAMALALI!!!!! OH MY!!!!!!!!!

What a fabulous trip!
Now I am home, buried under laundry piles and things to do... I just realized that school starts at the end of the month. I need to take the kids back to school shopping and I need to get stuff organized around here for the school year.
But the really cool thing I wanted to share today...
I finally was able to get a piece of art from Amy Ruppel!
Check it out: http://www.amyruppel.com/artsale/i5.html
I've been wanting to buy one of her birds for months... but I always miss her online sales. Not this time, though! I got online right as the sale started and got to pick my favorite right away! WOOHOO!! This is a total splurge for me... but I have admired her work forever and now I get to own my very own piece of it!

Wow! You HAVE been busy! The wrap up was full of lovely photos, as usual.
Love the bird. What is the medium? It almost looks like tile. I splurged on a painting a few years back on my birthday and find that it is far more satisfying to have a piece of someone's creativity than to buy new outfits or luxury perfumes. In that way, I suppose, I'm not your average girl. Oh well.
GREAT pictures!! Love the glimpse into your life! Violet did a great job with the superman face paint!
