But this morning when she woke up, she still has a headache. So I am going to use the referral paperwork I got from the pediatrician and I'm going to see if I can get her into the pediatric neurologist today. If you get a chance, say a little prayer for my girl. I want her silly personality back. Well you can also pray that her attitude stays away. ;)Thursday, May 22, 2008
My mini-me and her Migraines
My very own mini-me is home sick today with a migraine that hit her head like a whack from a baseball bat after church last night. One moment she was fine and the very next she was crying in pain from the headache, which even caused her to throw up in the car (note to Rick... grocery bags in the glove box are always a good idea for whenever you might need to hold stuff you don't want actually *in* the car) on the way home. She fell asleep pretty hard and fast after that (well after stopping at the gas station to wash my jacket, which we used as a barf bag, and her jeans, which caught the drips from my non-waterproof jacket, and the car, which caught the rest).
But this morning when she woke up, she still has a headache. So I am going to use the referral paperwork I got from the pediatrician and I'm going to see if I can get her into the pediatric neurologist today. If you get a chance, say a little prayer for my girl. I want her silly personality back. Well you can also pray that her attitude stays away. ;)

Sweet Violet- my prayers go to our Heavenly Father ...who is Creative, Merciful, Healer, and Comforter.
Jess,
Olivia had the same problem starting at the end of kindergarten. She'd get horrible headaches, throw up, see shmushy spots and flashes. The pediatrician sent us to our opthamologist first, who diagnosed her with occular migraines. He said she would outgrow them and gave us medication for when they would hit. By the time she was in 5th grade they had diminished a lot, and since then she only gets them about twice a year.
Needless to say, 1st through 4th grade she missed a lot of school because they were so frequent. We just made sure each teacher new what she suffered from.
Try the eye doctor first.
Glad to know she got into see the doc and she is getting better. She can't miss anymore school, there are too many fun things to do...
